This showcase features the dedicated dancers of our Tech Program.
The show begins with excerpts from La Bayadere. Original music by Minkus and original choreography by Petipa. Adaptation and additional choreography by Sasha Greschenko and Patricia Godfrey. DCP’s performance includes the famous act of Kingdom of Shades with all our tech students participating on stage.
After intermission, the dancers who competed at the 2019 Regional YAGP competition will present a selection of solos, pas de deux and ensembles. This will be followed by group pieces for each tech level. It will include Hip Hop ensemble choreographed by Joe Chaplin, Contemporary ensemble choreographed by Shannon Johnson Grayson and Jazz ensemble choreographed by Shauna Goddard-Barger.

Country legend Johnny Cash is faithfully recreated by tribute artist James Garner and his boom-chicka-boom Tennessee Three band! Garner brings the Man in Black's biggest hits to life such as Folsom Prison Blues, I Walk the Line, and Ring of Fire. Personal anecdotes of America's beloved Country Music Hall of Fame, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and Songwriters Hall of Fame icon makes this a not to be missed, toe-tapping trip down memory lane! Arcadia Police Department Sergeant Dan Morgan is Lifetime Achievement Award honoree in memoriam. VIP artist meet & greet and desserts is after the show. "Game of Survival" is a thrilling adventure that leaves the fate of the show in the hands of the audience. Orchesis Dance Company’s professional quality production showcases diverse genres including contemporary, hip-hop, bollywood, jazz and more. Every dance is full of dynamic movements, dramatic music, and passionate emotions. This solely student run production consists of dancers, backstage crew members, and ushers. There will be featured choreography from the dancers and professionals within the industry. Chicago co-founder and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame drummer Danny Seraphine features Grammy Award-winning icon Bill Champlin who makes this concert his farewell to touring. Iconic guest artists will make special appearances with Seraphine, Champlin, and CTA's powerful vocals and horns. Chicago’s classic hits from the 70’s like “25 or 6 to 4" and “Saturday in the Park” and from the 80’s power ballad era like “Hard Habit to Break,” “You’re the Inspiration,” and “Look Away" will delight all audiences. This spring gala supports arts scholarships and honors Bill Champlin, and philanthropists Jim and Shelly Romo. Arcadia High School Pep Band opens the concert.
